Which
Nespresso Machine Should You Get?
We hope our comparison chart
below will help you in your purchasing decision.

Ease of use is paramount in the Nespresso D290’s design – it features automatic function as its backbone. Two backlit buttons offer easy programming – choose between the small-cup and large-cup function, press a button, and boom! The Nespresso D290’s off to give you the best espresso around. What’s more, the Nespreso D290’s special steam nozzle has a Cappuccino-Cafe Laffe function that draws milk through a tube into a cup, creating froth instantly. Making that perfect specialty drink was never so simple.
There’s no reason to worry while using the Nespresso D290’s steam function – it automatically cools two minutes after the last use, or automatically by pressing the steam button, so you won’t need to worry about steam burns. An electronic sound and visual indicator give twin announcements that the used-capsule container is full, and the Nespresso D290 automatically switches off if its jaw device is opened while your espresso is being made.
The Nespreso D290 automatically ejects used capsules when the jaw device is opened, and features electronic temperature regulation, a removable steam nozzle for hot water, and a removable 41-ounce water reservoir. Includes an espresso cup, a cappuccino cup, and 20 capsules with two different coffee varieties, so you can get started making great espresso as soon as your Nespresso D290 arrives!
Nespresso's Exclusive Capsule System
Nespresso has developed an exclusive packaging system that can only be
purchased through Nespresso. All Nespresso machines purchased through us include
a sampler pack as well as information on how to join the Nespresso Club. If you

The exclusive system of unique coffee capsules together with innovative
machine technology enables Nespresso to capture all of the characters of perfect
coffee. It entails placing the
right quantity of ground coffee into aluminum capsules that are coated on the
inside with a protective film. This protective film prevents any contact between
the ground coffee and the aluminum. One individual capsule contains exactly the
right amount of fresh, finely ground coffee for one espresso.
This packaging system preserves all of the qualities and flavour of the
freshly roasted coffee for at least nine months, providing optimal quality at
the moment of consumption. Day after day, the end result is always perfect.
Nespresso's Premium Blends
Nespresso developed the Premium Blends from the different coffee sources at
their very own Nespresso production centre in Orbe, according to Nespresso's own
formula. Precisely the right amounts of coffee are required. Nespresso chooses
certain coffee origins for their particular characteristics: aroma, finesse,
quality of crème and lasting aftertaste. Below are the 12 Premium blends that
Nespresso currently makes.
The Espresso Blends
The Espresso range of Nespresso
Premium Blend coffees have diverse characteristics and are best enjoyed in a
small cup (40 ml).
- Ristretto, Strength: 10 - Ristretto is the typical Italian
espresso. It is a short, strong, full-bodied espresso with a touch of
acidity. It has a pleasantly lingering taste.
- Arpeggio, Strength: 9 - Arpeggio is a Mediterranean blend par
excellence with a strong character, intense body and long, exquisite
after-taste. Its thick, smooth crema remains to the last sip.
- Roma, Strength: 8 - With its sweetness and its woody notes, Roma
is the ideal coffee for a short espresso which is not too strong.
- Decaffeinato Intenso, Strength: 7 - An intense, rich taste with
slightly elevated acidity gives this decaffeinated coffee all the strength
of a true espresso.
- Livanto, Strength: 6 - A very well balanced blend, Livanto is
characterized by a dense and velvety aroma. It is a uniquely rounded
espresso.
- Capriccio, Strength: 5 - Capriccio is a full-bodied espresso,
which is also creamy, mild and rich. Its crema is very dense, and so
delicate that it reflects the light.
- Volluto, Strength: 4 - Lightly roasted but full-bodied, Volluto's
flavour is round and fresh with a cereal hint. Volluto's character is
reinforced by a touch of acidity.
- Cosi, Strength: 3 - Cosi is perfect for espresso lovers who enjoy
a mild, smooth crema coupled with the refreshing acidity of a hint of lemon.
- Decaffeinato, Strength: 2 - This is the lighter and creamier
decaffeinated blend, offering a rich and delicate balance between mildness
and acidity. Decaffeinato's crema is distinguished by its hazel colour and
consistent texture in the mouth.
The Lungo Blends
The Lungo range of Nespresso Premium
Blends are mild and intense coffees, which are developed especially to be
enjoyed in a large cup (110 ml).
- Vivalto, Strength: 6 - Vivalto is an intense Lungo which combines
pleasant roasted and floral notes. Its crema is noteable for its smooth
texture. Equally delicious prepared with milk.
- Decaffeinato Lungo, Strength: 5 - Decaffeinato Lungo has a
consistent body and a delicious texture on the palette. Its slow and
consistent roasting reveals a delicious roasted flavour.
- Finezzo, Strength: 4 - Extremely balanced, Finezzo is a mellow
blend with fruity notes and a light body. Its character is reinforced by a
hint of acidity.
