Larger than Saeco’s Via Veneto, the Gran Crema delivers consistently rich and
smooth espresso with a lot of crema, that tawny-colored froth that forms as the
coffee pours out of the machine.. The machine’s high performance 15-bar pump
system, which is double the threshold needed to make espresso, insures excellent
crema. Even if you have little experience making espresso at home, you’ll find
this model easy to use with its removable 68-ounce water tank and dual filter
basket for making two shots of espresso at once. If you love double shots, this
is an especially convenient feature because there’s no reloading coffee for a
doppio.
With little or no practice, you’ll be operating the easy-to-use steam wand,
aka the Pannarello frothing device, like a seasoned pro. A frother button that
lights when the steam is ready means no guesswork and no cups of diluted milk.
This model is easy to clean—just let out a bit of steam to freshen the frother,
and remove the filter, filter basket and drip tray for a warm, soapy wash in the

Simple Controls and Indicator Lights
The Gran Crema’s main power switch, brewing pump switch and steam switch are
rocker type switches of heavy-duty plastic, each with its own indicator light.
Located on the right side of the machine, is the easy to use steam knob.
Pressurized Portafilter
This heavy duty, stainless steel pressurized filter holder is built to
withstand the Gran Crema’s high brewing pressures necessary to make superior
espresso with thick, rich crema.
Built In 68-oz. Water Tank
For ease in refilling and cleaning, this 68-oz. water reservoir is fully
removable. It can also be refilled from the top during the brewing cycle.
High Performance Pump System
The secret to a fine espresso with a thick layer of crema is constant pump
pressure. This 15 BAR self-priming pump system has plenty of power to provide
great crema coffee for years to come.
Safe and Durable Boiler
Central to the operation of an espresso machine is the quality of the boiler
and heating element. The Gran Crema boasts a stainless steel, heavy-duty boiler
and heating element. Steam from this powerful unit makes frothing milk a cinch.
The boiler regulates the coffee brewing and milk steaming functions through the
use of two separate, highly accurate thermostats. This boiler also has burnout
protection; a thermal fuse to shut down the heating element should the machine
run dry during operation.
Removable Cup Tray and Drip For Easy Cleaning
The cup and drip tray quickly remove and are dishwasher safe.

Housed in heavy-duty ABS plastic is the Gran Crema will withstand the
everyday use and abuse.
Cleaning & Maintenance of Components
In order to keep the inside of your machine healthy, it must be periodically
cleaned. Scale buildup from naturally occurring minerals in your water can build
up on sensitive components like the inside of the boiler, which left unchecked
can cause considerable damage to the machine. By descaling your machine every
two-three months, your machine will be trouble-free for years. Saeco espresso
machine cleaner can be purchased from us or by calling the support number in
your user guide.
Descaling and general cleaning is important even if you have a sophisticated
water filter system, and especially if you use well water. The drip tray and
water tank need regular cleansing with dish soap and warm water. Components such
drip tray and water tank can be hand washed with regular soap and water.
Installation & Accessories
Plug it in and the Gran Crema is ready to go. No fuss, no muss, no special
plumbing for water intake or discharge and no special electrical outlets are
required. With purchase, the Gran Crema comes with single and double stainless
steel filter baskets, a measuring spoon, and detailed instructions.
